Benefit Summary

Health Insurance - Blue Cross Blue Shield:

  • HMO plan coverage for Massachusetts based employees.  PPO plan offered to all other locations.

Dental Insurance - Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • 100% coverage for two cleanings per year
  • Orthodontia services up to age 19.

Vision Insurance - Vision Service Plan

  • 100% coverage for annual eye exams.
  • Coverage for lenses, frames and contacts.

Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Coverage

  • Company-paid basic coverage equal to two times annual salary, up to $500,000.
  • Supplemental employee and spousal coverage available up to $500,000.
  • Child coverage available up to $10,000.
  • Travel assistance emergency program includes: medical assistance, locating medical care, prescription drug assistance, emergency evacuation, cash assistance.

Disability Insurance

  • Long-term: Company-paid basic coverage for 60% benefit to maximum of $10,000 per month.
  • Short-Term: Disability at 66.67% base salary benefit for first 90 days.

Parental Leave

  • All employees are eligible to paid time off directly following the birth or adoption of the employee’s new born child.

401(k) Plan

  • Managed through Principal Financial Group.
  • 1-80% maximum deferral with ability to change every pay period.
  • Pre-tax deduction up to IRS limit. Equity Participation Program
  • All employees receive an option to purchase ViaCell common stock.  
  • Options are fully vested after [four] years.

Paid Time Off
Vacation

  • ViaCell employees accrue three weeks of vacation time each calendar year (pro rated for new hires during the first calendar year).  
  • After five years of service, employees accrue 4 weeks of vacation and 5 weeks of vacation after ten years of service.
    Holidays
  • ViaCell employees are allocated 12 holidays per year, which includes both fixed and floating holidays. 

Educational Assistance Program

  • ViaCell will reimburse eligible employees for up to $3,000 per calendar year for tuition, registration fees, lab fees and books.

Fitness, Health & Wellness Benefits

  • Corporate gym benefit discount for Cambridge Racquet & Fitness.
  • Fitness expense reimbursement of 50% up to a maximum of $360 per year toward a health and wellness program or activity.
