In January 2003, ViaCell obtained a worldwide, non-exclusive license from GlaxoSmithKline and Glaxo Group to four forms of TPO-mimetic for use as a reagent in producing stem cell therapy products. Unless earlier terminated, the license extends on a country-by-country basis until the expiration of the underlying technology patents.
